Scorpio Full Moon 2025
Even though eclipse season has technically passed, the aftershocks are still working their way through our bodies, our systems, our lives. And if I’m being honest, it took a lot out of me. I’ve been in and out of bedrest lately, since there's been complication with my procedure (for my ankle). I haven’t written in over a month. I’m still catching up: with myself, with my clients. If you’re still in the thick of it too, you’re not alone.

On May 12, the Scorpio Full Moon arrives, one of the most emotionally charged lunations of the year. In Buddhist tradition, this Full Moon is honored as Wesak, the time when the light of the Buddha is said to descend to Earth. It’s a moment of devotion, wisdom, and release. It reminds us that liberation is possible, but not without awareness, and not without compassion.
This Moon asks us to face what we’ve pushed into the shadows. To tell the truth about what still haunts us. To acknowledge the pain we’ve learned to normalize. Scorpio holds space for what’s unspoken. Full Moons bring things to light. Scorpio reveals what was never meant to be seen.
This lunation pulls focus to the polarity between Taurus and Scorpio, between what nourishes us and what consumes us. Between what we own and what we owe. Between sensuality and seduction, comfort and chaos, the beauty we curate and the shadow we bury.
This is the part of the process where you stop pretending you’re fine. Where you stop ignoring the signals your body has been sending. Where you tell the truth about what it’s cost you to hold it all together.
And Scorpio’s methods aren’t exactly warm. They’re surgical. Focused. Brutal when necessary. He shows you where you're weak, so you learn how to hold your own when the ground beneath you gives way. So you stop believing in permanence. So you become fluent in uncertainty.
We’ve all been living through deeply Scorpionic terrain, not just personally, but globally. We've witnessed the collapse of systems that were never built to support everyone. We’ve been forced to reckon with what’s broken in our institutions, our relationships, our narratives of success.
Scorpio also speaks to shared resources, money, time, support, and how power flows between people. Many of us have faced growing debt, materially and emotionally. We’ve had to rely on systems that haven’t always shown up. We’ve had to ask for help. That’s not weakness, it’s reality.
Now comes the hard part: sorting the mess. Making meaning from what’s left. Ask yourself: Do you value yourself enough to change? Not just in theory, but in action, in habit, in how you spend your time and energy. Your self-perception is your reality. Every thought you allow to rot unchecked becomes part of the world you wake up in.
So keep asking the hard questions.
Keep choosing to stay with yourself.
Not to fix everything at once, but to show up.
To refuse collapse.
To trust your inner knowing over the noise.
If you have planets or angles near 22º of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, this Moon will hit close to home. But we’re all in this story. We’re all being asked to release what has expired, whether we’re ready or not.
This Full Moon is also notable as the final in a long series of Full Moons making aspects to Uranus in Taurus, a planet whose seven-year journey through this sign has steadily unraveled the structures we once assumed were permanent. Taurus governs stability, resources, the economy, and the Earth itself. Uranus has disrupted these areas with a call to innovate and adapt. This is the closing act in that storyline. Expect the unexpected.
There’s no gentle version of this Moon. Only truth, feral energy that breaks through. You don’t get to skip the exorcism. Let’s be clear: this full moon only cares about your evolution. The shedding of the snake skin.
This is Scorpio, the sign that governs rot and regeneration, the underworld and the orgasm, the trapdoor beneath the ego where real power lives. And Taurus, holding the opposite end of the axis, is the part of you that just wants to keep things as they are. Familiar. Predictable. Palatable.
So here we are. Opposites locked. The Sun in Taurus clings to what comforts. The Moon in Scorpio digs where it hurts. And with this kind of tension, something has to break. Maybe it’s a relationship. Maybe it’s a narrative. Maybe it’s the idea that you could keep pretending you don’t feel this way. Maybe it’s the realization that a lot of “this” doesn’t matter.
This Moon doesn’t work through logic.
She works through the subconscious.
Through the dreams that won’t let you sleep.
Don’t try to reason with her.
The power struggles will continue, until the morale becomes ungovernable. Not every power struggle is loud. Some creep in unnoticed. You don’t always realize you’re in one, until you catch yourself shrinking, apologizing for asking to be treated with fairness. Until the silence after your boundaries are crossed starts to feel normal. Until the systems that fail you expect your gratitude.
This Full Moon doesn’t just show you what you’ve been clinging to. It reveals what’s been keeping you stuck. This isn’t just about release. It’s about reclaiming. It’s about remembering that your voice matters. That your experience is valid.
You have every right to name what was taken. To speak what’s been denied. To insist on the protections that should never have been optional. This is about your power, and your right to wield it.
Uranus brings the electric jolt. The plot twist. The holy “what the f*ck.” If you’ve been holding yourself hostage in the name of safety, this is the jailbreak. And if it feels like your nervous system can’t take one more shock, I hear you…. But brace for it.
Pluto, Scorpio’s modern ruler, stationed retrograde on May 4th. When Pluto stations, its transformative force is internalized and intensified. What we’ve buried, individually and collectively, starts to rise. The stories we’ve avoided, the truths we’ve tucked away, the pain we thought we could outgrow all ask to be witnessed. This isn’t gentle work. But it is necessary. We’re being asked to look honestly at what we’re still carrying, and decide what we’re ready to put down.
Chiron in Aries and Jupiter in Gemini both point their crooked fingers toward the Moon in Scorpio, forming what the ancients called “the finger of God.” This is a contradiction made manifest. The wounded warrior and the trickster-scribe both push their energy toward the Full Moon’s cauldron, asking you to make sense of what never made sense in the first place.
Meanwhile, Mercury in Taurus, slow, fixed, stubborn, sits at the apex of a T-square between Mars and Pluto. Mercury is the focus point here. The sharp end of the knife. Secrets leak. Words get heavy with consequence. Be mindful of the power your voice holds right now. And what it might destroy. As Mercury moves through Taurus, we’re reminded that our thoughts shape the worlds we build. This transit asks us to slow down and get intentional. What narratives are we feeding? What beliefs are we anchoring into reality with our focus, our words, our time? Not every thought deserves a seat at the table.
Pluto, retrograde in Aquarius, reminds us:
What you name, you summon.
What you refuse to acknowledge, controls you.
So let yourself feel.
Let yourself release.
Let yourself want something different.
Something is ending.
Something else is trying to break through.
But first: the purge.
Always, the purge.
Horoscopes for the Scorpio Full Moon
Aries: This Full Moon pulls focus on what’s been shared, entangled, and unspoken. From joint finances to the most tender corners of intimacy, you’re being asked to sort what’s yours from what’s theirs. With Mars in Leo squaring Mercury in Taurus, it’s easy to project or overstate. Let honesty guide you without needing to dominate. Pluto’s retrograde stirs the truth in your social connections. What has been lingering beneath the surface, unspoken or unclaimed, demands your attention now. Be honest about what’s yours to hold, and what’s never been yours to carry.
Taurus: The Scorpio Full Moon brings your attention to relationships of all kinds. With Uranus still stirring up your identity and Mercury conjoined the Sun in your sign, you’re being asked to speak a truth you’ve outgrown the fear of saying. What do you need from others now that you’ve changed? This lunation is a checkpoint in your ongoing evolution, one that invites you to release what’s rigid and meet partnership from a new place.
Gemini: This Full Moon highlights your daily rhythms, your health, and your relationship to labor. With Jupiter expanding your inner world and Chiron offering healing through community, the clarity arriving now is not logistical, it’s spiritual. Something about the way you work, care for your body, or manage your time is no longer sustainable. Let this Full Moon show you where your energy leaks, so you can reclaim it.
Cancer: This lunation lights up your house of creativity, desire, and personal joy. But Scorpio doesn’t skim the surface, it dives deep. What truths about your passion, pleasure, or artistry have you been avoiding? With Pluto enhancing your emotional insight, and the Moon opposing Uranus, something may arrive suddenly to shake open your heart. Let it. You’re not here to perform happiness, you’re here to live it.
Leo: The Full Moon draws your focus home, both literally and emotionally. Family patterns, ancestral weight, and your inner foundation are all being activated. With Mars in your sign and Mercury in your career house, you may feel pulled between public expectations and private needs. But this is not a time to power through. It’s a time to root down, to name the pattern you’re ready to break, and to choose a different legacy.
Virgo: Scorpio governs your house of language and perception, and this Full Moon asks you to question the scripts you’ve inherited. Mercury, your ruling planet, is under pressure, and so are you. But clarity comes when you stop trying to solve everything and start asking better questions. What beliefs about your worth are ready to be rewritten? Let the discomfort speak. Then decide which narrative deserves your voice.
Libra: This Full Moon lights up your values, your finances, and the story you tell yourself about what you deserve. With Uranus activating your house of intimacy and Pluto reshaping your emotional roots, this is less about money and more about power. What are you holding onto that’s already expired? The Moon is here to help you loosen your grip.
Scorpio: This is your Full Moon, and it pulls no punches. Everything feels louder: your instincts, your grief, your truth. With Uranus opposite you and Mercury squaring Mars, tension may rise in your closest connections. But this isn’t about blame. It’s about becoming. What version of you is asking to be seen? What truth have you been living around instead of through? This is your Full Moon. Let it show you what you’re ready to become.
Sagittarius: This Moon rises in your house of closure, dreams, and the hidden realms. It reveals what you’ve buried, avoided, or kept in the background for too long. Chiron in your house of joy reminds you that healing doesn’t require an audience. It just requires your presence. What emotional debris is ready to be cleared? This is a Moon for solitude, for release, for reconnecting to what you trust when no one else is watching.
Capricorn: The Full Moon activates your community, your sense of belonging, and your future dreams. But Scorpio asks: are those dreams still alive, or are they echoes of a former version of you? Pluto retrograde encourages deep listening, and Uranus stirs surprising insights through friendship. What collective space truly sees you? What vision do you want to help build? Let what no longer resonates fall away.
Aquarius: Career, visibility, legacy. These are the themes lit up under this Full Moon. But Scorpio doesn’t just want your résumé. It wants your truth. Pluto retrograde in your sign reminds you that your authority comes from authenticity. You’re being asked to lead from who you truly are, not who you think you’re supposed to be. The masks are heavy. Let them drop. Authority rooted in truth is unshakable.
Pisces: The Full Moon activates your ninth house of truth, faith, and forward vision. With Saturn setting boundaries and Neptune dissolving illusions, both in your sign, you’re in a long process of discerning what’s real, what’s yours, and what’s simply worn out. This lunation, opposing the Sun and Mercury in Taurus, asks you to slow down and listen to your body’s wisdom. What philosophies still hold up under pressure? What longings still guide you through the dark? Let the tension between your daily routines and your higher calling clarify what’s next. This Moon brings a spiritual test: Are your current beliefs still true for who you’re becoming? What dream are you ready to take seriously? You don’t need to see the whole path, just the next few steps.
