How sleep can be a magickal ritual

The night can be a mystical portal, leading us on a journey to the depths of our souls. Sleep, in all its restorative power, can serve as a powerful tool for spiritual growth and connection. As we sleep our bodies rejuvenate and our minds slip into the unconscious, opening the door to the unknown. But, with the practice of Lucid Dreaming, we can become self-aware within the dream, allowing us to adjust and create shifts in our unconscious mind, which then create shifts in our waking life. Sleep as a magick ritual can lead to greater awareness, heightened creativity, and spiritual awakening.

Lucid Dreaming is the ability for you to become aware and "awake" within a dream and to have control over the content of the dream. This skill can be developed and strengthened during Pisces season, the Pisces Full Moon, when the moon is in Pisces, or when your 12th house is illuminated. Pisces energy can provide access to the deeper aspects of your unconscious mind. However, it's important to note that lucid dreaming can be practiced and developed at any time, not only during these astrological events. Whenever your intuition calls for it is a good time to focus on developing this skill. Lucid Dreaming allows you to work directly with your mind, and to tap into your intuition and the unconsciousness.

Lucid Dreaming is an effective method for making positive changes in your life. It involves working with both your conscious and unconscious mind. By becoming aware and "awake" within a dream, you can directly influence your mind and make changes to your unconscious. As you improve your ability to lucid dream, you will be able to make significant changes to your life. In essence, lucid dreaming is a way to gain control over your dreams, which can lead to greater self-control in waking life.

Lucid Dreaming can become a powerful path to greater awareness, heightened creativity, and spiritual awakening. Buddhism uses the mind to work with the body. In Vajrayana Buddhism ("vehicle of skillful means"), there are techniques of dream yoga guiding one to wake up to reality.

The word "Buddha" comes from the Sanskrit root budh, meaning "to awaken;" denotes one who has awakened from the deep sleep of ignorance. Are we the most spiritually awake in sleep, and the most asleep in waking "reality"?

Lucid Dreaming can be leveraged to practice new skills or rehearse an activity. Dream control is developing self-control. Dreaming with greater awareness can also help develop intuition and reveal hidden knowledge (even about ourselves); it may also allow communication with others.

Lucid Dreaming can also be used as a tool for magick by enabling us to communicate with others through the astral plane. By becoming self-aware within the dream, we can access the power of the unconscious mind and connect with other beings on a deeper level. This can include communicating with guides, ancestors, and even others we know or want to know better in the waking world. We can also use symbols and imagery to send messages, and enchant through Lucid Dreaming.

To make sleep a magickal ritual for your spiritual practice, try incorporating the following steps into your bedtime routine:

  • Set an intention: Before going to bed, take a few minutes to set an intention for your sleep. This could be as simple as asking for guidance or protection during your sleep or something more specific, like seeking answers to a particular question or problem.

  • Create a sacred space: Make your bedroom a sanctuary for sleep by creating a peaceful and serene environment. This could include dim lighting, soft music, or burning incense.

  • Incorporate symbols and sigils: Before going to bed, you can create symbols or sigils related to your intention for communication and place them around your room or under your pillow. This can serve as a reminder to your subconscious mind and help to manifest your intention.

  • Practice relaxation techniques: In the minutes leading up to sleep, take some time to relax your body and mind. This could include deep breathing exercises, meditation, or yoga.

  • Use visualization: Before drifting off to sleep, visualize yourself in a peaceful and safe place. This could be a place you've been before or a place you've imagined. See yourself surrounded by love and light and feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed.

  • Incorporate tarot cards: Before going to bed, you can draw a card or two and meditate on their meanings and how they relate to your intentions for the night. This can provide you with guidance and insight for your sleep and any dreams or visions you may have.

  • Use mugwort: Mugwort is a perennial herb that has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and spirituality. You can burn mugwort as incense before going to sleep. Or, by drinking mugwort tea before bed can help promote lucid Dreaming and astral travel, allowing you to connect with the spiritual realm more directly and consciously.

  • Lucid Dream: You can practice my guide on lucid dreaming: techniques, tips and exercises.

  • Set the intention to remember your dreams: The best way to remember your dreams is to set the intention each night and signal to your brain that you want to remember. After experiencing a lucid dream, remain aware and record any memories and symbols that came to you.

  • Keep a dream journal: In the morning, take a few minutes to write down any dreams or visions you had during the night. This can be a powerful tool for gaining insight and understanding into your subconscious mind.

Trust in the process and believe that each night's sleep is an opportunity to connect deeper with your inner self and the divine. Sweet dreams.
